About Us
The NHS Wales TrainWorkLive (TWL) national and international attraction campaigns, market Wales as an attractive place for healthcare professionals to train, work and live. These campaigns support the supply of the current workforce and contribute to the workforce pipeline to meet the future demands.
TWL is delivered by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW), a Special Health Authority within NHS Wales which sits alongside Health Boards and Trusts. The organisation oversees the strategic development of the health workforce in Wales and is dedicated to transforming the workforce for a healthier Wales. It has the leading role in the education, training, development and shaping of the healthcare workforce in Wales to ensure high-quality care for the people of Wales.
The TWL team deliver a number of attraction campaigns each year, featuring the faces and stories of healthcare professionals who have chosen to train and/or work in Wales. TWL launched in October 2016, with a medical campaign which had a specific focus on GPs, it has since developed to include a psychiatry focus, with additional campaigns for nursing and midwifery, dentistry, plus pharmacy. Other attraction campaigns to support the recruitment of healthcare professionals into NHS Wales are in development and include a campaign for mental health services. The attraction campaigns include social media and targeted digital advertising, plus attendance at healthcare events with our bespoke NHS Wales stand.
